Chloe and Evan first met about 5 years ago at Saatchi & Saatchi, where Chloe worked with Evan's friend and groomsman, Shaunt. To this day, however, Chloe does not remember this encounter.
Fast forward a couple years, when they were both living in Manhattan Beach. Shaunt facilitated a meeting by reaching out to Chloe and vouching for Evan. So, Evan and Chloe went on their first date at Manhattan Beach Post (nice work, Ev), followed by a terrible game of pool at a local dive bar.
As they started dating, both Chloe and Evan were struck by how comfortable they felt around each other and how compatible they were. Early on, they came to realize they were each other's "people."
Their relationship continued to progress, and they made big steps to becoming a little family by moving in with each other and adopting their fur baby, a lab mix puppy they named Boogie Wonderland.
In June, Chloe and Evan went on a Faucher family vacation to Oahu, but tacked on their own time in Maui before meeting up with the rest of the family. While there, they made plans to go to the top of Haleakala, a dormant volcano, to catch the sunset.
The 2-hour drive up the mountain was extremely foggy and rainy, so Chloe and Evan were worried they wouldn't be able to see the sunset at all. But the summit was just above the rain clouds, making the view truly look like heaven.
In preparation for the "sunset," Evan set up a tripod while muttering that fellow sunset-watchers kept getting into his shot. Meanwhile, Chloe intensely focused on the dropping sun and tried to ignore what Evan was doing, as she knew exactly what was going on.
Finally, the sun fell below the clouds and Evan popped the question in front of the beautiful backdrop. Chloe wasn't surprised (just woman's intuition), but that didn't make the moment any less special or memorable.
And here we are! Life really can't get any better.
